Reaction From The British News

The British media reacted badly to our win last night. Here's one such report (Daily Mail) :-

HUMILIATED! United in need of yet another miracle after Moyes' men slip up in Greece... with an Arsenal loan star sticking boot in.
Passionate Olympiacos fans created a heated atmosphere inside the Karaiskaki Stadium.
United brought a good following, but the atmosphere was dominated by the hosts.

Olympiakos 2-0 Manchester United

A superb historic night for us tonight as we beat the reigning champions of England, Manchester United by a 2-0 scoreline. We played well for the main part and were helped throughout the game by an absolutely dreadful Manure team. We made the best of a very makeshift lineup (no Saviola, No Siovas, Valdez recovering etc) and played to our strengths. The win sees us go to Manchester with a superb chance of qualifying to the next stage. Perez is looking like a very good purchase for our team already.

The only downside was the view of two totally empty gates due to UEFA's stupid insistence that we made rascist chants in the previous game.

Olympiakos 2-0 Manchester United
38' Dominguez
55' Campbell

Olympiakos : Roberto, Maniatis, Holebas, Manolas, Marcano, Salino, N'Dinga, Perez (85' Valdez), Campbell (67' Fuster), Dominguez (76' Machado), Olaitan.

OFI 0-4 Olympiakos

Matchday 26 saw us thrash OFI with a largely second team XI. The only down point was Saviola going off injured in the 33rd minute. His replacement was Scepovic who had a great game and got his hat-trick in the remaining 60 minutes or so.

Saviola is now rated doubtful for the Manure game but we'll see for sure when the teams are announced on Monday.

OFI 0-4 Olympiakos

39 'Machado, 42', 52', 88' Scepovic

Olympiacos : Roberto, Salino, Papadopoulos, Manolas (59' Bong) Holebas, Samaras, Machado, Campbell, Fuster (62' Pele), Ibagaza, Saviola (33' Scepovic).

Football : Olympiakos 4-2 Platanias

We had a very one sided match yesterday where we trounced Platanias by four goals to two. Unfortunately we had to wait for the scoring to properly start until the 70th minute or so but we had multiple attempts on the Platanias goal until then.

The game was notable for seeing the first goal at from Valdez and Perez whilst emerging star Olaitan scored yet another. On loan Vlachodimos scored from a great shot as a consolation for the visitors but all in all it was a very good game from us.

Olympiakos 4-2 Platanias

Olympiakos :  Roberto, Papazoglou (66' Ibagaza), Papadopoulos, Marcano, Bong, Maniatis, N'Dinga, Olaitan (73' Machado), Perez, Dominguez (57' Valdez), Saviola.

Euroleague : Olympiakos 78-60 Anadolou Efes

We improved to 4-2 in Top 16 Group E by thrashing Anadolou Efes 78-60 in SEF. We grabbed our third consecutive win, with Spanoulis taking 16 points. Lojeski and Dunston each added 13, while Begic had 10.
Spanoulis led a 10-1 Olympiacos run and soon added an off-balance basket that gave us a 24-10 lead late in the first quarter.
Dunston, who got plenty of help from Spanoulis and Petway to break the game open, made the score 62-43, at the end of the third quarter. We boosted our margin to 70-46 midway through the fourth quarter and never looked back.

Greek cup - Atromitos 1-1 Olympiakos

We qualified for the next stage of the Greek Cup last night with a 1-1 draw. The draw however was good enough to see us advance on away goals in the last four. We will then be drawn against the Vazeloi, Voulgaroi or OFI.

The game itself was reasonable from ourselves, we did the majority of the attacking and regularly threatened the Atromitos goal but we just couldn't get the elusive goal. Atromitos scored from an offside position in the 42nd minute but we got the equaliser from a penalty call in the 56th. It wasn't a brilliant game and the free stream was terrible quality which didn't help matters but we got through and that was enough for me.

Atromitos 1-1 Olympiakos
42' Tavlaridis / 56' Dominguez

Olympiakos : Megyeri, Salino, Manolas, Marcano, Bong, N'Dinga, Maniatis, Campbell (75' Samaras), Perez (90 +1' Machado), Dominguez (85' Saviola), Olaitan.

Michael Olaitan

Michael Olaitan scored a brace at the weekend and got another assist.

In Michel's own words, "He (Olaitan) is a basic and important player for Olympiakos. He was called to fill the gap of Mitroglou and succeeds in the best possible way. I wish I had in the team other players like Olaitan!"

Not bad at all for a player we got on a cut price deal in the summer and is now on 10 goals and 5 assists in all competitions.

Veroia 0-5 Olympiakos

We beat Veroia earlier tonight by 5-0, all goals being scored in the second half. The first half was frankly shit so it was good to see us improve and get a demolishing win. Veroia dropped apart after the second goal which is why the score line was so high. Still, plaudits for Maniatis and Olaitan for good performances and assists.

Veroia 0-5 Olympiakos

59' Dominguez, 69' Perez, 70' Olaitan, 85' Maniatis, 92' Olaitan
